Electric trailer brakes can cause wear and slow down the trailer by activating the electromagnetic brake drum. When the surge brake operates independently, the electric trailer brake must be connected to the power supply of the towing vehicle and adjusted by the brake control unit or electric brake controller.How to Select Electric Brakes and Brake Parts
To determine the right or left brake assembly, position the brake so that the magnet is at the bottom. On electric brakes, the actuating arm will always bend from the pivot pin towards the magnet, with the left hand brake bending to the left and the right hand brake bending to the right.
