These gearboxes have a double function as they transmit the movement to the drum and carry the weight of its front part, thus simplifying the construction of the concrete mixer truck but also its maintenance.
The series includes a range of sizes which are appropriate for truck mixers with a capacity varying from 1 m3 to 13 m3, and can therefore be used both for the installation of small mixers for construction sites and for the assembly of mixers on road trucks.
The main technical and constructive features of the gearboxes for mixers are: the output torque ranging from 3.000 Nm to 55.000 Nm, the possibility to assemble 2 or 3 stages planetary gearboxes and the high or low-speed hydraulic motor adaptor according to the gearbox ratio. The external toothing wheels are cemented, tempered and shaved; while the internal toothing wheels are tempered with induction.
Thanks to the implementation of tapered roller bearings or, depending on their size, of four point contact ball bearings, allow high radial and axial load capacity. Moreover, the gearbox housing may swing in all directions with respect to the carrier, this feature allows the compensation of assembly mistakes or frame distortion while the vehicle is moving; the maximum swing accepted is of ±4,5° or ±6° according to the constructive form.
