What size trailer ball do I need?

In short, the diameter of your trailer ball must match the size of your coupling, the diameter of the trailer handle must match the ball hole, and the weight must be sufficient to safely tow the trailer.
Step 1: Match the ball with the size of the coupler
When selecting a trailer ball, first select the ball diameter by matching it with the coupling size. Most manufacturers stamp or mark the correct trailer ball size on the joint.
Before towing, ensure that the joint and trailer ball joint are securely connected and make all necessary adjustments.

Step 2: Match the handle with the trailer ball hole
The holes on the spherical bracket or bumper hitch platform are the locations for fixing the trailer spherical bolts. It is important to understand the diameter of this hole so that you can choose a trailer ball with a matching rod diameter.
If the trailer handle is too small, it will move and may become loose during towing. If the connecting rod size is too small for the trailer ball hole, a reducer bushing can be used to compensate for the difference.
