Using parallel comb rollers offers a number of advantages to conveyor belt systems, especially in applications handling sticky materials:
Effective Belt Cleaning: The main benefit is the ability to effectively clean return material (material that adheres to the belt after discharge). This is especially effective with sticky, wet or fine materials that tend to adhere to the belt surface.
Prevents Material Buildup: By continuously removing residual material, comb rollers prevent material buildup on return rollers and pulleys. Material buildup can lead to premature component wear, belt misalignment and uneven belt tension.
Reduced Maintenance and Downtime: Less material buildup means less need to manually clean rollers and pulleys, which reduces maintenance and associated downtime.
Extended Component Life: Keeping rollers and pulleys clean means they run smoother, with less wear, and thus last longer. This can also indirectly extend belt life by preventing localized wear points.
