A transmission chain is also known as a roller chain or drive chain. A transmission chain may have more than one gear. This increases its power capacity. They are often a simple oval loop and contain more than one gear. The second gear recovers power from the shaft or hub. It is often called a double-strand chain. The third gear is called a dual-strand chain, a multi-strand transmission chain. This simple chain is often used to convey power to motorcycles and move the wheels. Transmission chains are oval loops used to move heavy objects from one place to another. These chains are usually made of multiple links with more than one gear and can go around a corner. Among the many advantages of transmission chains, they are inexpensive, easy to manufacture and maintain, and can be changed when needed. This is why they are an increasingly popular choice for mechanical drives. The best part of a transmission chain is its ability to transmit power. If properly maintained, it will last for years. And that's why they are prevalent in various industries.
What are the steps of transmission chain design?
In the design and production process of the transmission chain, there are four critical steps: blanking, braiding, welding, "shaping," and heat treatment. Next, I will briefly introduce it to everyone.
(1) The blanking refers to the materials required to produce industrial transmission chains in the pre-programmed machine. During the blanking process, it should be carried out according to the dimensions indicated in the chain design drawings.
(2) The braiding refers to the "braiding" of materials processed by the machine. To ensure the quality of the next step, the raw materials should have stable hardness and good cold bending during the braiding process.
(3) Welding: There are three standard welding methods for transmission chains: cold braided cold welding, hot braided cold welding, and hot braided hot welding. Among them, cold braided cold welding is mainly suitable for large-scale mining chains. Hot braided cold welding primarily produces industrial chains with longer lengths. The temperature and process applicable to different methods are slightly different.
(4) Reshaping aims to change the shape of the raw material and make it closer to the shape of the chain.
(5) Heat treatment refers to using high temperatures and various auxiliary media to improve the structure of raw materials and enhance performance. Generally, annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, carburizing, nitriding, carbonitriding, boronizing, etc.|
Transmission chain application industry
